I do not think the two mechanics would mesh well together, through some sort of combination of the two could be possible - maybe if you do not burn down stress points long enough your affliction turns into corruption points?
Matthew Mercer's Corruption Rules - I was considering these as an alternative to Stress Mechanics with an exception that instead of gaining corruption points every time the party rests near a corrupt place (which in Barovia is EVERYWHERE) the trigger would be committing evil acts like in classic Ravenloft, maybe also interactions with some particularly vile artifacts or individuals.I would likely also implement some means to get rid of stress taken from DD, where more risky ones - drinking, gambling, sex - are more effective but may take risk on their own Kor Artificer's Darkest Dungeon Stress Mechanics - These feel the most fitting since so much emphasis is set on the psychological torment of the PCs at the hands of Strahd and these mechanics appear a perfect fit for that purpose, with rising stress slowly making characters act in more and more unhinged ways.
I was wondering if any of you have an experience of using these mechanics and/or CoS and would like to share some insight about whenever using them or not is a good idea. there is a number of mechanics that could be more climactic but also make the adventure harder in one way or another and also affect the pacing of the game. This made me think of what mechanics to implement to maybe improve the experience. Recently a possibility for me DMing something longer both in real life or online via pbp and even if nothing comes out of either, this made me think of running Curse of Strahd in either format.
